The 20 FT HC Dangerous Goods Storage Container is a specialised, heavy-duty shipping container engineered for the safe, compliant storage and transport of hazardous materials, chemicals, and liquids. It uniquely combines the extra vertical space of a High Cube unit with full-length side-opening doors and an integrated spill containment system.
Key Features & Design
- Full Open Side Access (OS): Features bi-fold or multi-hinged doors along one entire 20-foot sidewall. This permits rapid pallet loading via forklift and straightforward handling of oversized chemical drums.
- High Cube Clearance (HC): Stands at an external height of 9 ft 6 in (2,896 mm). The extra foot of overhead clearance allows for the safe storage and vertical clearance of 1,000L Intermediate Bulk Containers (IBCs) with top fittings intact, or double-stacked standard pallets.
- Spill Containment (Bunded Floor): Outfitted with a secure, sub-floor bunding system designed to trap internal leaks and liquid run-off. It typically holds an expansive 2,200L to 2,500L capacity to maintain environmental compliance.
- Galvanised Steel Grating: The floor consists of removable, heavy-duty galvanised steel grates positioned over the bund. This keeps personnel and equipment elevated safely above any potential chemical pooling.
- Hazardous Vapour Management: Equipped with multiple high and low louvered air vents along the walls to prevent the dangerous buildup of flammable or toxic airborne vapours.
- Dual Drain Valves: Includes exterior ball-valve drains directly tied to the bunded sub-floor, facilitating the safe drainage and disposal of captured hazardous waste.
